What is Compounding?
Compounding combines science and art into a custom-made medicine for people and animals. Tailored medications through compounding allow for a patient’s unique needs. Commercial products are designed to be “one-size fits all.” Compounders realize that most folks do not fit this model. They can fine-tune and perfect medicines where commercial products fail. Patient, Physician, and Pharmacist constitute an essential Triad. The three work together to find solutions to medicinal challenges.
Pain Management
Pain management can often be achieved through compounding. Compounding provides the flexibility of fine-tuning a dose of pain medication for a specific type of pain. It is also possible to combine medications together that work synergistically to help pain management. Compounders can make medicine to treat pain caused by nerve damage, arthritis, muscle aches, migraine headaches, among several other conditions. Unique dosage forms for pain management include capsules, creams, sublingual drops, and injectables. |
